Network Engineer - Hybrid Position

PacStar is currently seeking a talented

Network Engineer

, in this role, you'll prototype, test, and refine networking aspects of product design, integrate network designs with IQ-Core Software, test hardware and software, develop BOMs, manage the networking build environment, script for system configuration, install solutions, travel occasionally, provide tier support and engage with customers.

Your Challenge:

Work with internal and external stakeholders to prototype, test and refine the networking centric portions of our product design

Work with PacStar's Software and Systems Engineering to integrate network designs with IQ-Core Software to exercise existing capabilities and define new features

Test and troubleshoot hardware, software and networking for PacStar products.

Develop Bill of Materials (BOMs) for PacStar product

Setup, operation and maintenance of our networking build environment

Design, and implement procedures/scripts for configuration and testing of systems

Perform physical installation and configuration of PacStar developed solutions.

25-50% Travel required. Potential locations are both outside the continental United States (OCONUS) and inside the US (CONUS).

Occasional "Tier 1,2" support

Occasional customer engagements to demonstrate or deploy PacStar technology

Performance requires physical attendance

Other duties as assigned

Your Expertise:

3-5 years in system administration and network engineering, required.

A.S. in IT, CS, or equivalent experience, required.

Experience with Networking Devices required (Switches, Routers and Firewalls), required.

Experience with Cisco IOS and ASA devices, required.

CCNA or ability to attain CCNA, required

Experience with Cisco Voice Gateways and Cisco Call Manager, desired

Experience with VMware Vsphere (ESXi), desired

Experience with multiple VPN implementations, both site-to-site and remote access, desired

Experience with PKI and certificate-based authentication, desired

Experience with Microsoft Windows and Windows Server, desired

Experience with PC hardware and troubleshooting, desired

Strong written and verbal communication skills

Ability to present complex technology to technical and non-technical customer audiences

Independent Professional that can perform job assignment with limited supervision

Accuracy and attention to detail is a must

Must be able to self-organize workloads and manage all deadlines
