POSITION SUMMARY
The Postsecondary Success Coordinator (PSC) under the direction of the Chief of Student Services, has the overall responsibility of coordinating key postsecondary success initiatives, strategies and activities in the Office of Student Services. The PSC serves as an individual contributor responsible for coordinating initiatives that support students' successful transition from high school to postsecondary education, career training, or employment. Working closely with school-based staff, community partners, and higher education institutions, this role supports the development and implementation of systems and programs that promote college access, career readiness, and long-term success for all students. The PSC is responsible for implementing targeted strategies that support students, staff and administrators. Chief among the responsibilities is to provide support and direct service to support college and career planning platform implementation (i.e. SchooLinks, MyCAP), college affordability, postsecondary planning seminars and academic/enrichment initiatives designed to impact schools' college and career going culture and student outcomesThe coordinator exercises independent judgment and decision-making within the scope of assigned responsibilities.
POSITION DUTIES: Work collaboratively with the Chief of Student Services and district level administrators to support initiatives related to college affordability, including FAFSA completion, financial aid workshops, college and career success. Maintain and facilitate the production and dissemination of a monthly scholarship database. Monitor and analyze data related to postsecondary readiness to inform programming and student support strategies. Leverage technology and data tools to enhance outcomes. Provide technical assistance and professional development to principals/assistant principals, school counselors, financial aid advisors and school staff on college financing, postsecondary tools, and best practices. Develop and distribute communications and resources to students and families regarding postsecondary opportunities. Collaborate with college access partners, community-based organizations and district departments to build relationships with families and caregivers to promote engagement. Support the coordination of district-wide and monthly college access workshops, Summer Melt strategies, and college and career readiness programs. Work collaboratively and communicate with institutions of higher education and workforce development partners to increase college and career readiness/success. Coordinate the digital presence of the district's postsecondary success strategies to engage students and families i.e. social media platforms. Work collaboratively with schools and student groups to increase college and career Assists with staff meetings, meeting agendas and notetaking. This includes leading and co-facilitating meetings as well. Perform additional responsibilities as assigned. QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor's degree in education, counseling, social work, public administration, or a related field required. At least three (3) years of professional experience in education, college access, youth development, or workforce readiness. Demonstrated knowledge of college admissions, financial aid, and postsecondary planning processes. Excellent oral and written communication skills, with a proven ability to build strong relationships. Strong organizational skills and the ability to plan and execute effectively in a fast-paced environment. Experience working in or with urban school systems and diverse student populations. Ability to work independently, manage multiple projects simultaneously, and meet deadlines. Deep passion and commitment to supporting youth and promoting their success. Dedication to continuous learning in the areas of college access and postsecondary success. Willingness and ability to work flexible hours, including occasional evenings and weekends. Proficiency in Microsoft Office and data management tools; familiarity with platforms such as Naviance, SchooLinks, PowerSchool, text messaging platforms, or National Student Clearinghouse is a plus. Must possess a valid driver's license Must have reliable transportation other than public transportation to travel from school to school in a timely fashion without advance notice.
