Job Description A leading provider of robotic automation and custom integration systems is seeking a dynamic

Director of Project Management

to lead its project execution function. This high-impact role will oversee the Project Management Office (PMO), drive cross-functional alignment, and lead delivery of complex, customer-focused automation projects. The ideal candidate will be a strategic and hands-on leader with experience managing capital equipment programs, technical project teams, and direct customer engagements.

Key Responsibilities: Lead and develop the Project Management Office (PMO), building long-term team capability and succession planning. Establish and maintain standardized project management practices, tools, and KPIs across the Automation Division. Drive cross-functional collaboration between Engineering, Production, Supply Chain, and Commercial teams to ensure cohesive execution. Personally manage high-complexity, high-visibility projects as needed to ensure delivery on time and within budget. Serve as the executive sponsor for key customer and supplier programs, participating in reviews, escalations, and executive-level engagements. Act as the point of escalation for at-risk projects and lead resolution efforts across departments. Own and enforce the company's phase-gate project execution model, including scope, schedule, budgeting, and risk assessment. Monitor and report on program financials (ETC/EAC) and project portfolio performance metrics. Implement continuous improvement initiatives using lessons learned and root cause analysis. Partner with Sales and Applications Engineering during pre-sale planning and ensure smooth handoffs into execution. Lead communication with key customer stakeholders, representing the company's delivery capability and commitment to success. Manage project scope changes and negotiations while balancing customer satisfaction and internal business goals. Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Industrial Technology, Project Management, or Business required. PMP certification required. 12-15 years of experience managing complex automation or capital equipment projects. Proven leadership experience managing project managers and cross-functional delivery teams. Strong knowledge of custom automation systems, robotics, PLCs, machine safety, and mechanical integration. Proficiency in Microsoft Project (or equivalent), Excel, and project reporting platforms. Demonstrated success delivering projects in a high-mix, engineer-to-order manufacturing environment. Willingness to travel up to 15% for customer visits and site support. Preferred Traits: Executive presence with strong communication and presentation skills.
