We are seeking a skilled
Systems
Engineer
II
to analyze
functional
business
requirements
and design specifications for
mission critical
defense
applications . This role supports DoD contracts by identifying and resolving
system
design
challenges
, enhancing existing systems, and leading new IT infrastructure developments. The ideal candidate will work closely with engineering teams, ensuring optimal system performance and compliance with
DoD
security
and
operational
guidelines .
Key Responsibilities:
Analyze
business requirements and design specifications
to develop secure and efficient IT systems.
Identify and resolve issues within
existing system architectures
, implementing enhancements where necessary.
Participate in the
analysis, design, and implementation of next-generation IT systems
for defense applications.
Evaluate
commercially available IT solutions (COTS)
and ensure seamless integration into DoD infrastructure.
Translate customer needs into
technical requirements
, ensuring feasibility for engineering teams.
Work closely with
programmers, software engineers, and systems architects
to maintain system integrity.
Provide expertise in
telecommunications, programming languages, operating systems, database management, and middleware .
Ensure systems comply with
DoD security protocols, risk management frameworks (RMF), and cybersecurity best practices .
Required Qualifications:
Active Secret Clearance: TS preferred.
Education:
Master's Degree or higher with
1 year
of experience OR
Bachelor's Degree with
3 years
of experience.
Experience:
3 years
of experience with a
bachelor's degree
OR
1 year
of experience with a
master's degree or higher .
Strong knowledge of
systems engineering principles, IT infrastructure, and secure software development .
Ability to obtain and maintain the required
security clearance .
Expertise in
network systems, cybersecurity frameworks, and system integration methodologies .
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with
classified defense systems and DoD IT projects .
Familiarity with
cloud computing solutions for defense applications (AWS GovCloud, Azure Government) .
Knowledge of
DevSecOps practices, CI/CD pipelines, and secure software engineering methodologies .
Certifications such as
Security+, CISSP, or DoD-approved systems engineering credentials .
