Description of Job Duties and Responsibilities

Fairmont State University is seeking a temporary, part-time, Student Success Support Specialist to provide supplemental coverage and support to the Student Success team. This position is ideal for individuals who are customer focused, detail oriented, and eager to help students navigate university systems during peak service periods. This role supports front-line services and administrative tasks, with a student-centered approach and a commitment to enhancing the overall student experience. The ideal candidate brings a student-centered mindset and a desire to make a meaningful impact.

Key Responsibilities: Provide support and resolution to general student inquiries related to admissions, financial aid, registration, student accounts, and more. Triage and escalate complex cases to appropriate full-time staff or departments. Assist in processing student-related documents including applications, transcripts, financial aid forms, and immunization records. Support front-deskfront desk coverage at the Turley Center, welcoming guests and offering guidance on university processes and offices. Participate in student outreach efforts related to enrollment, payment plans, and account status follow-ups. Assist in preparation and execution of campus events such as orientation, Welcome Weekend, and Maroon & White visitation days. Support special projects and initiatives as assigned by the supervisor. Schedule & Compensation:

20-25 hours per week, flexible scheduling within business hours. May require occasional extended hours during campus events. Hourly wage based on experience. Minimum Required Education

Minimum Qualifications

Preferred Qualifications

Associate's degree and/or up to 5 years of experience in a fast-paced setting. Prior experience in customer service, administrative, or a studentstudent-facing role. Familiarity with university systems and student life cycle processes (preferred but not required). Strong communication, organization, and multitasking abilities. Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise good judgment.
