Database Administrator
located in Nashville, TN! This role is perfect for a detail-oriented professional with a passion for database management and optimization. As part of a dynamic team, you will play a key role in ensuring database performance, availability, and security while contributing to innovative projects. Database Administrator Responsibilities: Create and maintain production, reports, and development databases. Perform proactive capacity planning to ensure uninterrupted database availability. Monitor and optimize database performance to enhance system efficiency. Install updates and patches to maintain Oracle/SQL Server compatibility and security. Plan and execute backup and recovery procedures. Manage encryption for production and non-production databases, including SSL and TDE. Migrate non-CDB databases to CDB as required. Implement and manage Oracle GoldenGate Microservices for database replication. Enforce database security standards and perform routine security checks. Establish and review design and code standards to ensure data integrity and performance. Evaluate Oracle/SQL Server releases and third-party tools for system upgrades. Provide technical assistance to development teams on database schema design. Administer database objects, such as tables, clusters, indexes, views, sequences, and procedures. Maintain knowledge of database technology trends and industry best practices. Troubleshoot database errors, optimize queries, and address performance bottlenecks. Configure cross-database replication tools to synchronize reports databases. Manage user setup and privileges based on project requirements. Ensure robust database design and oversee the implementation of physical database structures. Database Administrator Requirements:
Bachelors degree in Computer Science or a related field. 3+ years of experience as a Database Administrator. Proficiency with Oracle or SQL Server database systems. Strong skills in operating system commands and scripting (e.g., Unix shell, Perl, Python). Knowledge of database backup and recovery processes for Oracle/SQL Server. Experience with cross-database replication tools, such as Oracle GoldenGate. Familiarity with database security practices and management. Ability to optimize database queries and improve performance metrics. Understanding of Rest APIs and DEVOPS methodologies for always-available services. Strong troubleshooting skills for diagnosing database errors and resolving performance issues. Excellent communication skills to collaborate with stakeholders and cross-functional teams.
