Product Line Manager (PLM)

positions aligned with our C5ISR Modular Solutions business unit which develops Curtiss-Wright’s most advanced embedded electronics. You should have relevant industry experience and passion for technology, combined with strong sales and business leadership skills, to join the Curtiss-Wright team.

Positions are available in the US and Canada.

Location:

US remote or based out of a Curtiss-Wright Defense Solutions (NOT CA, NY, MN)

As our Product Line Manager, you will be responsible for the overall success of the entire C5ISR product portfolio and be the Subject Matter Expert (SME) for specific product lines and application areas, such as: mission processing, signal processing, HPEC processing architectures, CPU/FPGA/GPU and networking technologies, and emerging embedded edge AI processing systems.

As the overall technical and product SME, you will also help grow the business through participation in bids, proposals, and technical reviews.

Your Challenge

A Senior PLM with direct experience associated with High Performance Embedded Computing (HPEC) and embedded signal processing systems. Strong working knowledge of data processing workflows, high performance CPU architectures, FPGA technology, and accelerated GPU processing experience are highly desirable.

Responsible for the commercial success of our embedded product lines, overseeing them from inception, through market research, design, build, launch, growth, enhancement, and eventual sunset. By understanding market needs, solution gaps, and technical requirements, you will develop and deliver innovative solutions to our customers, focusing on sound business growth.

Ensure that our products and solutions provide market differentiation through features, price, services, support, or other key customer value propositions, resulting in increased market share and revenue growth.

Develop and implement strategies for existing and new products, including business cases with ROI models, pricing, profit strategies, and data-driven forecasts for bookings, revenue, and design wins.

Collaborate with Engineering leads, CTOs, and marketing teams to define solutions for emerging market needs, including feature sets, technical specifications, Design to Cost targets, and pricing models.

Provide Engineering with well-defined feature, cost, and product-level requirements, supporting product development to meet market needs.

Oversee product development lifecycles to maintain TTM, DTC, development costs, and ROI throughout development and ongoing activities.

Manage product line health through sales forecasts, margin monitoring, pricing adjustments, and market-driven enhancements to maintain leadership.

Develop partner relationships to increase our products' value proposition and solutions.

Work with Sales, Business Development, Bids, and Contracts to build customer relationships, negotiate deals, and support business growth.

Analyze customer requirements and contribute technical and marketing input to solutions.

Support pre-sales activities with SME knowledge and insights.

Assist marketing with product launches, content creation, and developing product roadmaps and white papers.

Drive third-party development and support cooperative marketing and sales activities.

Participate in industry groups to influence standards and stay updated.

What You Bring

A relevant hardware and/or software Engineering degree or equivalent experience

A relevant business degree or equivalent experience

At least 7 years in Product or Engineering Management or technical Product Marketing

US citizenship and security clearance eligibility or existing clearance

Ability to understand market needs and create innovative, differentiated products

Proven success in identifying opportunities and developing them

Strong relationship-building skills with customers, partners, and teams

Understanding of product, market, and marketing strategies

Knowledge of defense and aerospace embedded systems and technologies

Understanding of embedded processing technologies and industry standards

Excellent communication skills for complex presentations and bids

Skills

Self-motivated, entrepreneurial, with attention to detail and a sense of urgency

Strong business acumen and understanding of technical decision impacts

Ability to analyze data and support decision-making

Knowledge of embedded computing architectures, hardware, and software, including:

Intel and Arm processors, single board computers

FPGA and GPU processing technologies

Ethernet networking for embedded systems

VME/VPX/XMC form factors and standards like SOSA, CMOSS

Embedded Linux and real-time OS

Functional safety and security processing technologies

Willingness to travel frequently for customer, sales, and industry events
