Position: Process Supervisor - Specialty Department This role manages unionized workers involved in the manufacturing of specialty sugars, overseeing production, quality, safety, and employee supervision. Responsibilities
Manage all aspects of the specialty sugar process, including production, quality, safety, and supervision. Direct sugar refining operations during designated shifts. Lead teams of specialized employees, ensuring adherence to good manufacturing practices (GMP) and safety procedures. Achieve production volume, quality standards, and regulatory compliance by supervising up to 30 hourly personnel on rotating shifts. Work effectively in an organized labor environment to achieve results through subordinates. Maintain knowledge of operations such as Afflation & Melting, Carbonation, Char & Carbon Filtration, and other sugar manufacturing processes. Collaborate effectively with subordinates, peers, and supervisors. Possess basic understanding of mechanical, electrical, and instrumentation systems. Utilize computer systems effectively. Manage liquid process systems using knowledge of fluid systems, chemistry, and mathematics. Communicate clearly both in writing and verbally. Require 2-3 years of industrial supervision experience, with mechanical, electrical, and instrumentation knowledge as a plus. Be available for rotating shifts and weekend work. Perform industrial labor tasks such as site navigation, climbing ladders, and working around heavy equipment and confined spaces. Experience & Education
2-3 years in manufacturing, preferably in food, pharmaceutical, or chemical industries. College Degree in Engineering or related science, or equivalent military experience preferred. High School Diploma or G.E.D. required. Supervisory Responsibility Yes Location & Compensation The pay rate depends on qualifications and experience.
