This is an opportunity to join an industry-leading renewable energy venture and IPP with strong private equity backing, focused on developing and executing dynamic utility-scale energy storage projects. They have accumulated over 9GW of projects in a short period and are currently in an accelerated expansion phase.

The Energy Storage Operations & Maintenance Director will integrate with the organizational leadership team to drive operational strategy across the company's portfolio in a growing Asset Management Division. The role focuses on field-based O&M strategies, warranties, fleet management, commissioning, and testing of operational assets.

This team is dedicated to energy storage/battery storage asset management, O&M, energy trading strategies, and real-time operations. The role involves cross-functional collaboration with a team of Sr. Directors, Directors, and Managers to optimize renewable energy battery storage assets nationwide.

Responsibilities:

Manage field-based O&M functions for utility-scale battery storage assets across ISO/RTOs nationwide to ensure peak performance and revenue maximization.

Develop and implement asset-based operations and maintenance strategies aligned with power trading and market participation.

Drive asset optimization through strategic evaluations of equipment, hardware, and software, collaborating with IT and OT departments.

Lead operational troubleshooting to improve project performance, system enhancement, and process improvements.

Manage relationships with third-party contractors and vendors to maximize production, safety, and cost efficiencies.

Collaborate with other directors and executive stakeholders on asset O&M, OSHA, NERC compliance, risk management, and P&L reporting.

Qualifications:

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering, Operations Management, or related field with utility-scale renewables experience; 10+ years in O&M and renewable energy leadership, or equivalent experience in energy storage.

Proven success in field operational asset management, O&M strategy, and portfolio optimization in renewable energy sectors.

Experience with energy storage, BESS, or battery storage O&M providers and OEM equipment is highly preferred.

Experience leading field-based asset management across various energy platforms (solar, wind, BESS, etc.).

Ability to lead compliance initiatives for OSHA, ISO/RTO, and NERC standards.

Relevant roles include Sr. Director of Asset Management, Director of Technical Asset Management, O&M Director, or similar positions in renewable or clean energy companies.
