Director of Operations
to oversee high-value, multi-disciplinary projects across
commercial and residential real estate , as well as
specialized asset classes, including top-tier collections, private aviation, and marine assets . This leadership role requires a candidate with a strong foundation in
operational and financial consulting ,
strategic planning ,
technology systems , and
construction project management , as well as demonstrated success in managing complex vendor ecosystems and budgets. The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced, high-touch environment, brings a holistic operational view, and can balance strategic oversight with hands-on project delivery. The Director of Operations will report to our Chief Operating Officer. Key Responsibilities: Strategic & Operational Leadership Partner with the COO to define and implement strategic initiatives across the organization’s real estate and specialty asset portfolios. Translate business goals into operational plans, KPIs, and project execution frameworks. Identify process improvements and drive organizational efficiency and scalability. Oversee commercial and residential development, renovation, and maintenance projects. Coordinate with architects, engineers, general contractors, and local permitting authorities to ensure timely, on-budget delivery. Manage real estate holdings across multiple geographies, including lease management, capital planning, and asset lifecycle tracking. Specialty Asset Management Lead operational planning and vendor coordination for acquisition, maintenance, restoration, and storage of private collections, aviation, and marine assets. Ensure compliance with regulatory, safety, and preservation standards for each asset class. Work directly with ownership and asset-specific advisors to support high-value projects and one-of-a-kind acquisitions. Source, onboard, and manage a broad network of vendors, including construction firms, specialty technicians, property managers, and maintenance providers. Negotiate contracts and service agreements; implement service level standards and vendor performance reporting. Establish systems for quality control, transparency, and accountability across third-party relationships. Budgeting & Financial Oversight Build and manage operational and capital budgets across real estate and specialty assets. Monitor and report on cost performance, forecasting, and project-level ROI. Coordinate closely with accounting and finance teams to ensure accurate tracking and reporting. Technology & Systems Oversight Support implementation of systems to manage projects, properties, assets, and vendor performance (e.g., project management platforms and asset tracking tools). Bridge operational needs with IT to ensure tools are aligned, secure, and scalable. Recommend and evaluate new technologies to support future growth and efficiency. Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Business, Construction Management, Real Estate, Engineering, or related field required. MBA or advanced degree
is strongly preferred. 8–12 years of experience
in operations, project management, or consulting, with demonstrated expertise across
real estate, construction , and
specialty asset oversight . Experience managing
luxury or high-value assets
(e.g., car collections, aviation, marine) is highly desirable. Strong budgeting, vendor management, and cross-functional leadership experience required. Familiarity with project and asset management tools (e.g., Procore, Smartsheet, Asset Panda, Microsoft Project). Professional certifications preferred
(e.g., PMP, CCIM, LEED, Six Sigma, or ITIL). Preferred Attributes: Strategic thinker with a hands-on, detail-oriented execution style. High discretion, professionalism, and responsiveness in working with principals and high-net-worth stakeholders. Ability to manage multiple priorities across asset classes and geographies. Comfortable in dynamic environments with evolving project scopes and fast timelines.
