Nursing Coordinator
Artesia Palms Care Center Full time Staffing & Scheduling: Coordinate, complete, and post nursing schedules, track absenteeism, assist with employee forms, and ensure appropriate unit coverage. Hiring & Onboarding: Assist with interviewing CNAs, confirm licenses, ensure time cards and schedules are ready before orientation, and support new hire orientation processes. Administrative Reporting: Prepare staffing reports, maintain employee records, handle complaints related to scheduling, and communicate regularly with the Director of Nursing Services (DNS). Committee Participation: Attend and contribute to facility committees (e.g., safety, recruitment), compile records, and implement committee recommendations. Staff Development: Coordinate and document in-service education and orientation programs; assign staff mentors for new hires. Safety & Compliance: Report hazards, follow safety procedures, maintain confidentiality of employee and resident information, and comply with HIPAA guidelines. Supervisory Authority: Carry administrative responsibility and accountability for staffing coordination, and assist nursing supervisors as needed. Interpersonal Relations: Foster a positive, calm work environment; communicate effectively with employees, residents, families, and external parties. Physical & Emotional Demands: Must be able to handle physical tasks (lifting, moving 25 lbs), cope with stress, and work with elderly or emotionally upset individuals. Work Conditions: Work throughout the facility, manage frequent interruptions, be available for overtime, weekends, holidays, and emergency call-backs, with potential exposure to infectious diseases and hazardous materials.
