Snowflake Developer, Carlyle AlpInvest Technology
We are looking for a Snowflake Developer to help implement and coordinate the data and reporting roadmap for Carlyle's AlpInvest (fund of funds) segment. Carlyle AlpInvest is a critical segment for Carlyle and is poised for significant growth in the future. This position will support that growth by providing technical delivery to build modernized data platforms and practices within the segment. They will also work hands on with other data practitioners, developers, and stakeholders to deliver on those technical data assets as well as the implementation and integration of various business systems throughout the segment. The developer will work with their peers throughout the enterprise to write, monitor, and enforce standards and policies for data management and technical delivery. The primary focus in the near term will be to enhance and streamline our new Snowflake data warehouse and surrounding ecosystem including SnapLogic/dbt for data engineering, and Sigma and Workiva for reporting. The developer will have an opportunity to play a role in selecting and implementing other data related tools including data catalog, MDM, lineage, and quality to round out a complete data platform. This role will also work closely with the domain architect to plan and oversee work done by teams of contractors and implementation partners on other systems used by Investment Solutions including Appian for Workflow and BPM efforts. Candidates should be comfortable working using agile methodologies involving multiple stakeholders. Responsibilities: Implement and advise on best practices for Snowflake data delivery and performance. Implement and advise on best practices for data engineering and reporting. Work with stakeholders and other developers on design, implementation, and documentation of complex data systems and solutions to meet business needs. Work with product owners, domain architects, and program managers to prioritize technical work items based on impact to maintain healthy up to date platforms. Work with dev teams and stakeholders to ensure proper testing of deliverables occurs prior to final delivery. Work with security and infrastructure teams to ensure alignment to standards and best practices. Provide technical guidance on data management best practices for Governance, MDM, Quality, Lineage, Catalog, etc. Our Tech Stack: Snowflake Snaplogic dbt Sigma Computing Workiva Appian Business Systems: (Anaplan, Chronograph, Investran, DealCloud, Salesforce, IT2) Qualifications: Education & Certificates: Bachelor's degree, required Concentration in computer science or related technical discipline, preferred Cloud and/or Data related certifications are a plus. Professional Experience: 6+ years of overall relevant experience with data related technologies, required 2+ years of experience with Snowflake, required Good understanding of entity relationship modelling, data architecture layers and design, metadata systems and tools, data quality tools and techniques. Understanding of major data architecture philosophies. Experience in working with SaaS software solutions and cloud compute environment. Experience with cloud architectures focused on analytics, data management and usage patterns. Experience with at least one programming or scripting language. Experience designing and creating reports in a modern data reporting/dashboarding platform. Experience working with Agile software delivery frameworks. Experience leading software delivery teams and coordinating amongst multiple delivery teams. Competencies & Attributes: Good working knowledge of Traditional ETL, ELT, Data Warehousing and Data Marts Understanding of the operational dependencies of applications, networks, systems, security, and policies Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) knowledge Working knowledge of Agile Methodology Excellent leadership, communication, collaboration, and interpersonal skills Benefits/Compensation: The compensation range for this role is specific to Washington, DC, and takes into account a wide range of factors including but not limited to the skill sets required/preferred; prior experience and training; licenses and/or certifications. The anticipated base salary range for this role is $155,000 to $175,000.
