Job Overview:

A well-established company is seeking an experienced Payroll Administrator to manage weekly payroll processing in a multi-state environment. This role involves handling certified payroll reporting, union agreements, and prevailing wage compliance, ensuring accurate and timely compensation for employees across various trades and unions.

The ideal candidate has experience in the construction industry, particularly in heavy equipment operations, and is well-versed in multi-state payroll, union contracts, and federal/state wage laws.

Key Responsibilities:

Payroll Processing & Compliance:

Process weekly payroll for employees in multiple states, ensuring compliance with state-specific tax and wage regulations. Administer payroll in accordance with union agreements, handling dues, benefits, and wage structures. Prepare and submit certified payroll reports for public works projects, ensuring compliance with federal and state prevailing wage laws. Maintain accuracy in project-specific wage rates and payroll documentation. Multi-State & Prevailing Wage Management:

Oversee multi-state payroll administration, ensuring compliance with local labor laws, tax regulations, and unemployment insurance. Ensure payroll aligns with prevailing wage requirements, correctly calculating wages for various job classifications and trades. Payroll Data & Audits:

Collect, verify, and reconcile employee time records, including overtime and special pay categories. Accurately process deductions related to union dues, garnishments, and benefits. Assist with internal and external payroll audits, ensuring compliance with regulatory agencies. Work closely with field leaders to ensure accurate payroll processing and reporting. Address and resolve payroll discrepancies and employee inquiries in a timely manner. Qualifications:

5+ years of payroll processing experience in a multi-state, unionized environment (required). Expertise in union contracts, certified payroll reporting, and multiple trades (required). Familiarity with federal and state prevailing wage laws (required). Background in the heavy equipment construction industry (preferred). Technical Skills & Competencies:

Experience with timekeeping systems and certified payroll reporting platforms. Strong understanding of multi-state payroll tax laws and union wage structures. Highly detail-oriented, with the ability to manage large volumes of data accurately. Strong problem-solving, communication, and organizational skills. Ability to manage multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
