The Transportation management division, located in Latham, NY, has been providing innovative school transportation management software and consulting for more than four decades. We are seeking a Performance Test Engineer that loves working with the web and mobile platforms, to join our team of passionate engineers and analysts in a modern development environment. Our Agile teams collaborate to define requirements, design, create and test solutions which target complex business problems. The Performance Test Engineer is responsible for writing test design specifications, automated test cases, and designing and developing performance test automation framework and tools to ensure that the software scales appropriately in response to load. Our focus is on building the highest quality applications using cutting-edge technologies to satisfy market driven needs.

Responsibilities

Perform load testing, stress testing, and performance profiling to identify bottlenecks in the application and infrastructure. Come up with SLOs (Service Level Objectives) in conjunction with the product team. Devise and measure SLI (Service Level Indicators) metrics. Utilize monitoring and alerting systems to identify potential performance degradation proactively. Troubleshoot and resolve performance-related incidents and provide root cause analysis. Design, implement and execute test cases based on product functional specifications. Conduct thorough and accurate software testing and provide approvals during development sprints. Provide analysis and consulting support for development and support employees. Stay up to date with industry best practices for performance tuning, scalability, and cloud architecture. Location

Latham, New York Qualifications

Bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Sciences, Management Information Science, or Business. Equivalent work experience may substitute for degree requirement. Prior experience in software automation required, Tyler software or related experience helpful. Experience with load testing and/or performance testing tools like JMeter, k6, or Postman required. Expertise with coding/scripting and OOP methodologies required. Firm knowledge and experience with relational databases including solid knowledge and understanding of SQL and query writing. Understanding of containerization and Docker a plus. Experience with performance monitoring tools like New Relic, Datadog, or similar. Familiarity with GitHub. Familiarity with Android operating system. Familiarity with Playwright Automation Framework Familiarity with Cloud principles, preferably AWS. Must be able to travel occasionally if requested.
