IT Service Tech (Electronics Repair Technician)
We are seeking a highly skilled IT Service Tech (Electronics Repair Technician) with expertise in component-level troubleshooting and repair of electronic devices and systems. This role involves diagnosing issues, performing repairs on printed circuit boards (PCBs), reworking electronics, and ensuring equipment meets performance standards. The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, analytical, and comfortable working with both standalone equipment and systems in the field. Key Responsibilities
Troubleshoot and repair electronic equipment down to the component level. Perform diagnostics on PCBs, replacing or reworking faulty components using soldering and reflow techniques. Conduct tests to verify equipment functionality after repair using specialized diagnostic tools. Maintain accurate documentation of repairs, parts usage, and maintenance procedures. Support the installation and setup of electronic systems or equipment when required. Collaborate with engineers and other technical staff to resolve recurring problems or design flaws. Follow safety protocols and ESD (Electrostatic Discharge) precautions at all times. Provide on-site support and service as needed (for Field Service roles). Assist in developing preventive maintenance schedules and standard operating procedures. Qualifications
Associate's degree or technical certification in Electronics, Electrical Engineering, or a related field. Proven experience in electronics repair, preferably including PCB or component-level troubleshooting. Proficiency in reading schematics, datasheets, and technical manuals. Hands-on experience with oscilloscopes, multimeters, soldering stations, and diagnostic tools. Strong attention to detail and documentation skills. Ability to work independently or as part of a team in a fast-paced environment. Valid driver's license (required for Field Service Technicians). Preferred Skills (Not Required)
IPC certification for soldering/rework (e.g., IPC-A-610, IPC-7711/21). Experience with surface-mount technology (SMT) and through-hole components. Familiarity with automated test equipment (ATE) or test fixture development. Previous work in a manufacturing, service center, or defense-related electronics environment.
