Summary
The Restaurant Manager works closely with the Executive Chef to ensure that the Poolside Restaurant operates profitably and efficiently. In addition to that, the Restaurant Manager ensures that the operation maintains the consistency of service standards and food. The Restaurant Manager trains and supervises the Front of the House employees and applies relevant service principles to ensure that the needs of guests are consistently exceeded. Work hours/days vary as dictated by business needs and may include weekends and holidays.
Essential Duties And Responsibilities
Operations * Implement monitor consistency of food and beverage policies and procedures. Oversee the planning and implementation of procedures for banquet functions and events. Partner with Executive Chef to oversee the appearance and cleanliness of all food and beverage equipment and facilities. Ensure that employees adhere to set uniform standards according to policies and procedures according to Dinah’s Hotel handbook. Ensure that state, federal and company regulations are consistently adhered to pertaining to alcoholic beverages and food safety. Monitor purchase and receiving products and supplies to ensure proper quantity, quality and price for all purchases. Greet guests and oversee actual service on a regular basis to ensure consistency of service. Maintain health, hygiene and safety standards in the Poolside Restaurant. Ensure that cleaning and side work is completed on a daily basis. Establish and maintain an effective communication and information system through logs, emails, daily property stand up meeting, weekly staff meetings, BEO meetings and facilitate open communication with all departments. Ensure that specials are understood by servers and are being promoted. Attend mandatory meetings. Conduct daily stand up meetings with staff. Reinforce daily food, wine and drink specials. Oversee month-end inventory. Customer Service Interact with guests and clients to monitor and assess satisfaction trends, evaluate and address issues and make improvements accordingly. Responsible for guest satisfaction in terms of Food and Beverage, hospitality and service standards. Responsible for engaging the guests with friendly dialogue. ( touching tables ) Resolve guest complaints and advise the General Manager of the corrective action taken. Ensure all services to our guests are conducted in a highly professional and efficient manner. Sales and Marketing * Partner with the Sales & marketing department to plan external and internal marketing and sales promotion activities. Assist with the development of wine, cocktail and beer promotional sales programs. Partner with wine vendors to set trainings and promotions with the Poolside employees. Safety * Oversee the cleanliness of the restaurant dining room as well as the Poolside Patio, this includes all Pool Areas. Monitor and maintain cleanliness, sanitation and organization of assigned work areas. Maintain proper storage procedures as specified by Health Department and Hotel requirements. Inspect food and beverage outlets for proper storage, sanitation, security, neatness, and rotation of inventory. Ensure a safe working environment and attitude for all FOH staff. Ensure that all safety and sanitation standards are consistently met. Accounting/Finance * Monitor and take corrective action as necessary to help ensure that budget goals are attained. Responsible for the proper accounting and reconciliation of Point of Sale systems and revenues. Ensure that the daily reconciliation of the Poolside bank is complete accurately. Ensure the accuracy of the bi-weekly payroll. Human Resources * Ensure that effective orientation and training for new staff, and professional development activities for experienced employees, are planned and implemented. Assist with staff recruitment, training and motivation. Partner with HR to implement on-going professional staff development and training programs for the front of the house employees. Ensure that all administrative work such as personnel documents, corrective actions forms, attendance forms, vacation forms, etc. are up to date and forwarded to the HR department. Perform other duties as directed, developed or assigned.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY
Assistant Restaurant Manager and Front of the House Poolside Employees.
Qualification Requirements
Ability to interact positively with management, coworkers, staff, and the guests to promote a team effort and maintain a positive and professional approach. Ability to produce a high volume of work in a timely manner, which is accurate, complete, and of high quality. Ability to come to work regularly and on time, to follow directions, to take criticism, to get along with co-workers and supervisors, to treat co-workers, supervisors, staff, and guests with respect and courtesy, and to refrain from abusive, insubordinate and/or violent behavior.
Education And Or Experience
Degree in Business Management/Hospitality Management preferred At least 3 years in a manager position in restaurant/Hotel Experience with MICROS POS a plus.
Language Skills
Ability to read and write English competently The ability to speak Spanish is a plus.
Computer Skills
Working knowledge of various computer software programs. Experience with POS systems in regards to Restaurants a plus.
Mathematical Skills
Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, proportions, and percentages.
REASONING ABILITY
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, or schedule form.

Summary
