Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesUsing a master production schedule, establish priorities of orders, determine optimal operator layouts, determine equipment and raw materials needed, and create detailed schedules of start and finish times for each production run for both processing and packaging departments within the value stream.Order floor stock and coordinate with supply chain and quality control (QC) to ensure raw materials are received and released on time to support the detailed schedule.Maintain inventory of released raw materials and parts needed to complete production and monitor floor inventory to ensure unused raw materials removed and stored properly.Confer with value stream management to coordinate changes to product or product packaging received from internal or external customers or departments.Establish cost, efficiency, and safety key performance indicators (KPIs) for continuous improvement goals.Escalate issues as necessary to ensure that production plans are properly integrated and achievable for the value stream.Communicate with operators and department supervisors to determine progress of work and completion dates.Keep track of production in real time. Compile reports concerning progress of work, production delays, and downtime due to failures of machines and equipment to value stream management, master scheduler, and sales teams.Assist on production floor as needed to ensure material flow is optimized.Use SAP inventory to track and locate raw materials, intermediates, and finished product.Ensures all material both work in progress (WIP) and raw inventory locations are maintained in an orderly manner.Perform Production Supervisor backup duties as directed.People Leader ResponsibilitiesThe Production Coordinator carries out People Leader Responsibilities in accordance with the Company's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include: Fill in and act as backup to Production Supervisors, as directed.Provide task direction to team members in collaboration with management.Required QualificationsEducation & Experience: High school diploma or equivalent.5 years' relevant experience in a manufacturing environment.Demonstrated leadership skills and experience.Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities (KSAs): Demonstrated fundamental knowledge of manufacturing supply chains.Working knowledge of manufacturing processes, machinery, and equipment in areas of responsibility.Strong root cause analysis, communication, teamwork, and organization skills.Self-motivated and able to work independently, prioritize tasks, utilize time efficiently, and multi-task in a fast-paced, ever-changing manufacturing environment.Must be able to inspire and motivate other individuals and teams to perform well; effectively influence actions and opinions of others, accept feedback from others, delegate and hold others accountable.Microsoft Office proficiency including Outlook. Working knowledge of ERP systems, SAP, etc.Must have the ability to communicate effectively, verbally and in writing, with internal staff and management.Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, blueprints and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of an organization.Must be able to demonstrate practical problem solving and trouble shooting skills. Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.Preferred QualificationsCollege or technical degree.Experience in a regulated environment (FDA, ISO, etc.).Experience with SAP.
