Apex Systems is seeking a Field Technician I for a position based in Baltimore, Maryland. This role requires the candidate to have their own transportation vehicle. Pay Rate: $22.08/hour Schedule: Monday

5:00 PM Job Description: Troubleshoots network equipment, replaces defective components, and collaborates with appropriate resources to isolate and restore network functionality. Proactively identifies potential problem areas to maintain network and company integrity. Assists with the installation, modification, decommissioning, and testing of Next Generation technologies, including Edge Compute, Wavelength, Fiber Optic Transport, Ethernet, SONET, and IP network layers across all available bandwidths. May install and test network and customer premise equipment (CPE), including the delivery of end-user services. Uses industry-standard software and hardware tools to accurately locate, mark, and protect underground outside plant facilities. Performs limited AC power work and installs DC power systems, including tertiary and BDCBB components. Manages asset inventory and ensures timely replenishment of on-site and truck materials. Coordinates shipping and receiving of company and customer equipment. Maintains tools, test sets, and all network-related equipment. Conducts Level 1 preventive maintenance and inspections on network and critical infrastructure equipment, including HVAC systems, high-voltage electrical systems, and DC power plants. With training and coaching, learns to use Lumen systems for trouble tickets, provisioning, time tracking, and materials management. Updates inventory records, completes system transactions to reflect job activities, logs time appropriately, and responds to information requests and escalations. Regularly provides status updates and reports issues to management. Evaluates individual performance using provided tools and reports, andwith managerial supportidentifies areas for improvement. Performs other duties as assigned by management.
