This job performs electroneurodiagnostic testing specific to the neurodiagnostic department; maintains working relationships with internal/external customers to ensure accurate and timely procedures and reports. Essential Responsibilities: Performs all electroencephalograms, routine and portable electrocerebral silence, 24-hour ambulatory EEGs, EMG/NCV testing, in accordance with the clinical practice guidelines established by the American Society of Electroneurodiagnostic Technologists (ASET) and departmental policy/procedures. (65%) Schedules neurodiagnostic procedures and gives accurate instructions. (10%) Performs all billing documentation and maintains all departmental records according to departmental policy/procedures. (10%) Maintains electrophysiological equipment, supplies, and performs quality control and analysis of all neurodiagnostic testing devices. (10%) Participates in activities to improve the quality of patient care and services provided by the department. (5%) Performs other duties as assigned or required. Qualifications: Minimum Bachelors Degree in a healthcare related field; or graduate of a Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Program (CAAHEP) Neurodiagnostic Tech program or certificate of completion from an American Board of Registration of Electroencephalographic and Evoked Potential Technologists (ABRET) recognized neurodiagnostic program or one to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
