Title: Inspector Agency: VP OF ADMIN AND FINANCE Location: Norfolk, VA FLSA: Non-Exempt Full Time or Part Time: Full Time Job Description: The incumbent in this position plays a critical role in ensuring that construction work is done safely and in accordance with code, while maintaining the project schedule's critical path. Perform construction inspections for projects assigned in compliance with the Commonwealth of Virginia, Construction and Professional Services Manual, General Conditions, Section 16, titles, "Inspection". Perform construction document reviews and associative construction project reports, record keeping and code related inspections and authorizations as required. Perform all duties in a manner that will promote the progress of the work. Minimum Qualifications: Considerable knowledge of construction procedures, principles, and codes. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Effective skills in reading and understanding construction contract documents and blueprints. Effective negotiation skills. Proficiency in MS Word, Excel and MS Project. Demonstrated ability to recognize construction discrepancies, problems, inconsistencies, and ensure correction or solution by documentation and necessary action. Demonstrated ability to maintain thorough records of all project conditions and situations.
