Accounting Clerk
The Accounting Clerk is an entry-level position that is responsible for reviewing, recording, and reporting AP, AR, and collections. This role will interface with other departments, customers, and vendors either in-person, by phone, or email. Customer service, communication skills (written and spoken) and attention to detail are keys for success in this role. Duties include but are not limited to: Sort documents and post debits and credits to proper account. Verify amounts and codes on various forms for accuracy. Review balance entries and make necessary corrections. Maintain and make necessary adjustments to records and logs such as journals, payroll, time reports, or property records. Verify and reconcile simple bank statements or department records. Make bank deposits and deposit checks. Process, code, and submit invoices for payment. Review collections reports. Follow-up with homeowners and vendors for payments. Process check and credit card payments. Work with attorneys on collections notices. Run reports. Send PnL reports for review and financial statement prep work. Manage petty cash and reimbursements. Manage bulk mail. Make copies, file and scan document, maintain documentation. Utilize multiple software platforms. Other duties as assigned. Requirements: High School Diploma or GED Required. 1+ years of general accounting experience. Excellent communication (written and spoken) and customer service skills. Attention to detail, ability to prioritize tasks, and meet time sensitive deadlines. Software savvy. Knowledge of Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.) at a proficient level. Knowledge of conflict resolution techniques at a proficient level. Self-motivated, proactive, takes the initiative, and a team player.
