Role Overview The Category Advisor is a critical member of our sales organization responsible for distilling insights from various data sources to develop business plans that drive category and Kraft Heinz volume. This position leads activities related to optimizing assortment and space management for assigned categories and customers using analytical tools.
Key Responsibilities
Implement shelving principles and standards
Identify root causes of customer issues and opportunities; deliver compelling stories to drive action
Analyze syndicated data to draw insights and make business recommendations on distribution, assortment, pricing, and promotion
Develop and integrate consumer, shopper, and retailer insights for strategic planning
Prioritize consumer and shopper needs using insight resources
Create impactful customer-specific selling stories for category initiatives
Coordinate with supply chain on assortment efficiency
Lead space initiatives across aisles and stores
Apply best-practice category management processes
Partner with Customer Business Leads on insight-based new item presentations
Conduct training for customer teams on sales information and tools
Build relationships with Walmart merchant teams
Represent category leadership in strategic customer meetings
Develop customer-specific category development recommendations
Required Skills
Analysis & Insights: Ability to develop insights from data and research for decision-making
Storytelling: Ability to create compelling, data-driven stories
Technical Proficiency: Mastery of MS Excel, Access, PowerPoint, and ability to learn new tools
Project Management: Ability to work against timelines, organize resources, and prioritize tasks
Ideal Candidate Experience
Experience in consumer-packaged goods industry
Experience in Category Leadership with Walmart
Strong knowledge of industry, sales, category, and space management
Proficiency with syndicated and panel data, and space management software
Compensation & Benefits Base Salary Range: $102,100 - $127,600
Performance-based bonus eligibility
