An expanding health and wellness organization based in Miami, Florida is currently seeking an experienced Controller to join its team. This role will be responsible for leading all accounting and financial operations, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and efficiency in financial management practices. Core responsibilities include preparing financial statements, managing internal controls, handling budgeting and forecasting, and maintaining adherence to GAAP standards.
Key Responsibilities:
Establish and uphold company-wide accounting policies and procedures Supervise the accounting team to meet performance goals Monitor financial regulation changes and implement best practices Oversee accounts payable and receivable processes Manage company cash flow and oversee payroll operations Complete monthly reconciliations (including bank, credit card, and balance sheet accounts) Maintain the chart of accounts and ensure timely debt service Keep organized and accurate financial records and control systems Drive budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis efforts Deliver financial reporting and key performance metrics to support leadership decisions Collaborate with external CPAs for year-end reporting and tax filings Coordinate audits and facilitate any required financial reviews
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance Minimum of 7 years of relevant experience, preferably in sectors like eCommerce, healthcare, technology, manufacturing, or inventory-heavy businesses Expertise in revenue recognition Familiarity with ERP systems CPA designation is strongly preferred Ability to work onsite four days per week
