Insurance Defense Litigation Attorney

A law firm in Springfield, Massachusetts, is seeking an experienced attorney to join its office. The firm specializes in insurance defense, insurance coverage, and commercial litigation, focusing on effective representation in various legal disputes. The role involves significant courtroom exposure and client interaction, making it an excellent opportunity for attorneys seeking to advance their litigation careers. Duties Handle a wide range of insurance defense and commercial litigation cases. Conduct depositions and manage all aspects of pre-trial discovery. Draft motions, pleadings, and other essential legal documents. Argue motions in court and participate in hearings. Collaborate with clients to develop case strategies and provide timely updates. Represent clients in trial proceedings when necessary. Requirements Minimum of 5 years of experience in litigation, with an emphasis on insurance defense or commercial disputes. Proven ability to take depositions, manage discovery, and argue motions in court. Trial experience is strongly preferred. Excellent research, writing, and oral advocacy skills. Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team. Education Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school. Certifications Admission to the Massachusetts Bar is required; Connecticut Bar admission is a plus. Skills Proficient in case strategy development and courtroom advocacy. Strong legal writing and research abilities. Effective communication skills for client interactions and teamwork. Detail-oriented with excellent organizational and time-management capabilities.
