Serves as a clinical/technical expert and role model. Manages laboratory information system, specimen receiving and referral services. Manages Lab activities such as developing and implementing objectives, planning and implementing new policies and procedures, recommending and/or implementing new systems and instrumentation. Ensures a quality laboratory product using established QI and QC principles with support from section leads and staff. Effectively communicates with laboratory staff on a regular basis. Prepares capital and operational budgets, including revenue projections, and regularly monitors to ensure fiscal integrity. Prepares business plans in support of laboratory objectives. Ensures compliance with all laboratory and HR policies, as well as all CHS Core Competencies. Works with section leads and staff to support and accomplish the goals and objectives of the Laboratory.Bachelor's degree in chemical, physical, biological, clinical laboratory or medical technology required.ANDAdvanced level of knowledge of laboratory business operations usually acquired through Master's degree (i.e. MHA or MBA, etc.).Official Transcripts or Clearinghouse Demonstrates laboratory information system specific technical/clinical expertise and proficiency in computer systems, operations and application software with at least one year experience.Two years of people management experience required.Interpersonal skills to work effectively with physicians, various Hospital departments, and Lab staff.Ability to think creatively to meet the challenges of a changing environment.Organizational skills to develop team management.Leadership skills to promote/advocate in the best interest of the patient and the health system through appropriate laboratory operations.Children's Wisconsin is an equal opportunity / affirmative action employer.
