Employment Type Staff Internal Job Category Exempt (Staff) Part-Time Department Coll Pharmacy&Health Sciences Hours up to 20 Primary Duties and Responsibilities: Position purpose: The Medical Director will provide strategic clinical leadership and oversight for the Flourish Belmont Mobile Medical Clinic (FBMMC), ensuring delivery of high-quality, evidence-based, harm reduction-focused, trauma-informed care. This includes primary care, mental health and substance use treatment and care, harm reduction, occupation therapy, physical therapy. This role includes protocol development, interdisciplinary provider supervision, clinical quality assurance, and direct participation in mobile unit operations. The Medical Director will work closely with the Program Director and Program Co-Director to integrate care delivery with education and training objectives for clinic staff and volunteers, advancing the mission to serve individuals affected by opioid use disorder (OUD), homelessness, and other vulnerabilities. Develop and maintain clinical protocols aligned with evidence-based guidelines for mobile medical and mental health care, harm reduction, and behavioral health. Provide direct supervision for licensed healthcare providers, as needed (NPs, PAs, pharmacists, residents). Oversee clinical services offered through the mobile clinic to include acute care, chronic care, wound care, screenings, immunizations, behavioral health, and substance use treatment pathways including being onsite a minimum of 4 hours/week. Ensure clinic compliance with HIPAA, OSHA, state licensing, malpractice coverage, and Belmont University policies. Contribute to quarterly and annual reports for grant compliance and strategic planning. Participate in risk management reviews and continuous quality improvement initiatives. Foster and maintain partnerships with key collaborators including representing the mobile clinic at professional meetings, community events, and conferences as needed. Required Education Education: MD or DO with active licensure in Tennessee required. Required Experience Experience: Minimum 3 years of clinical experience, ideally with underserved populations or in community-based/mobile care. Demonstrated knowledge of opioid use disorder, MAT, and harm reduction principles. Experience in interdisciplinary education, student preceptorship, and team-based care. Strong organizational, leadership, and communication skills. Commitment to health equity, trauma-informed care, and reducing healthcare stigma. Preferred experience: Experience in academic medicine, mobile health, street medicine, or federally qualified health centers (FQHCs). Bilingual or multilingual (especially Spanish and/or Arabic) is a plus but not required. The selected candidate will be required to complete a background check satisfactory to the University.
