Position Summary The Senior Manager, Scrum Master, residing within the Aetna Enterprise Integrations Organization, will provide day to day direction for multiple scrum teams within the AEI member domain. Initiatives may range across multiple programs across the enterprise, utilizing multiple technologies, continuous improvements and more. Length of project(s) may run multiple months or years in duration. This position will require continuous collaboration and consultation with leaders, contributors, and various level stakeholders to ensure the desired business outcomes are implemented. The ideal candidate is an initiative-taker, detail-oriented, highly organized, and able to work on multiple tasks simultaneously in a fast-paced and ever-changing environment. This role involves complex and cross-functional stakeholder management. It requires a strong background in complex program management, healthcare industry, process improvement, with demonstrated ability to work independently, build collaborative relationships, communicate clearly, gain alignment and consensus, build comprehensive execution plans, and meet difficult deliverables in a dynamic environment. It also requires openness to diverse and often ambiguous objectives, with a proven track record of facilitating and influencing teams, with and without authority. The Senior Manager, Scrum Master should exhibit the ability to quickly and positively adapt to a changing environment. It is essential that the candidate builds and maintains effective working relationships with peers, management and others within and across organizational lines. The key areas of focus for this role is to ensure scrum teams are delivering features to production on time, within budget and with a high degree of quality. In addition to this, the Senior Manager, Scrum Master in this role should be well versed in executing work utilizing the Agile methodology. This includes facilitation of scrum ceremonies (daily stand-up, sprint planning & backlog grooming meetings). Core Responsibilities Manages the work and deliverables of multiple, complex projects or programs, through ideation to implementation; that impact multiple processes, systems, functions, services, and/or products. Fosters information sharing, creating a collaborative environment. Allocates and monitors resource allocations and forecasting for team members on the scrum teams. Cohesive project facilitation, planning, collaboration, analysis, and guidance, ensuring that solutions achieve the expected business benefit or result. Active participation in all phases technology delivery: which may include discovery, assessment, initiation, planning, design, development, testing, execution, deployment, post implementation support etc. Engaging the appropriate resources needed to define and approve the project scope, requirements, and acceptance of the new functionality or change, prior to the projects’ go live dates. Proactively manage, escalate, and mitigate all issues and risks, engaging required parties, and escalating as needed, to drive to resolution and project deliverables remain on track. Proactively evaluate project activities, build contingency plans, execute corrective action, and monitor issue resolution to mitigate risks such as scope and/or variances in desired results. Track activity progress and build communication plan for implementation to ensure all impacted parties (up-stream/down-stream) are informed of next steps for completion and project status. Effectively manage team/stakeholder expectations and engagement through clear and frequent communication regarding status updates, critical path progress, or scrum of scrums meetings. Sets the tone in shaping the teams culture, fostering an environment for high-performing team dynamics, continuous flow & improvements. Required Qualifications 7-10 years related experience in project/program management or scrum master role. Understanding of Agile at scale philosophies & methodologies. Experience working in an Agile organization using Scrum, Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe), or other scaling models. Strong technical aptitude and experience leading teams in delivering quality software. Experience includes development and management of multiple projects and/or programs, simultaneously. Excellent communication (written, oral, presentations), holistic view and systems thinker. Proactive, problem-solving approach – someone who offers solutions not problems for others to solve. Self-starter with the ability to work independently and effectively prioritize multiple deliverables. Demonstrated flexibility to manage conflicting priorities and multiple projects concurrently. Proven track record in meeting deadlines, assigned deliverables, project milestones, and negotiating for resources. Ability to influence, collaborate, and communicate effectively with all levels and varying audiences. Leadership abilities that include motivating others, giving and receiving feedback, leading without authority and delegation. Excellent relationship management skills, with experience collaborating across various teams, business segments, functional areas, and/or stakeholder groups. Demonstrated success using verbal and written communication skills to present information. Strong Microsoft Office365 Suite & RTC proficiency. Preferred Qualifications 3+ years of direct project management experience; managing medium-to-large-scale, cross-functional projects. Familiarity with variety of project management methodologies i.e., agile, scrum, waterfall, lean, etc. Ability to interact with others in a collaborative and professional manner while fostering teamwork and knowledge sharing to complete key tasks. Understanding of resource allocations, forecasting, and budgeting. Strong presentation and communication skills with experience presenting to various business groups. Aptitude to communicate complex findings and conclusions in an easy-to-understand way. Strong organizational, multi-tasking, and follow up skills. Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment, manage tight deadlines, and competing priorities. Technical experience with Middleware, API & Rest based services. Strong understanding of the various Aetna systems and the end-to-end member experience for multiple applications/programs. Prior healthcare and/or project management experience. Education Bachelor’s degree or, equivalent experience (HS diploma + 4 years relevant experience) Pay Range The typical pay range for this role is: $118,450.00 - $236,900.00. This pay range represents the base hourly rate or base annual full-time salary for all positions in the job grade within which this position falls. The actual base salary offer will depend on a variety of factors including experience, education, geography and other relevant factors. This position is eligible for a CVS Health bonus, commission or short-term incentive program in addition to the base pay range listed above. This position also includes an award target in the company’s equity award program.
