Northrop Grumman Space Systems – Launch and Missile Defense Systems has an exciting career opportunity for a Sr Principal Engineer Network – Network Engineer SME (25-009) to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. This position will be located in Colorado Springs, CO. Position Overview: The Command and Control, Battle Management, and Communications (C2BMC) program integrates the Missile Defense System. It is a vital operational system that enables the U.S. president, secretary of defense, and combatant commanders at strategic, regional, and operational levels to systematically plan ballistic missile defense operations, to see the battle develop collectively, and to dynamically manage designated networked sensors and weapons systems to achieve global and regional mission objectives. Essential Functions: Apply extensive expertise and solve complex problems that require the regular use of ingenuity and creativity.
Function in project leadership roles and represent the organization as prime customer contact on significant technical matters on contracts.
Help junior engineers with tasks if needed.
Plan, deploy, integrate, and test upgrades to the C2BMC network to operational sites.
Travel to remote locations to lead and perform network installations, independently perform troubleshooting, and provide status updates to Program personnel.
Create, maintain, and present KPIs and other metrics related to the Network Enterprise.
Basic Qualifications: Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics or a related discipline preferred from an accredited university and 8 years of related experience or a Master’s degree in a related discipline and 6 years of experience, or 12 years of related experience instead of a degree.
Applicants must have a current active in-scope DoD-issued
Secret
security clearance at the time of application, with the ability to obtain and maintain a Top Secret clearance.
Ability and willingness to travel up to 10% to support business needs.
DoD 8140 certification at
IAT Level II or higher
(Security+, GSEC, SCNP, SSCP, CISSP, CISA, GSE, SCNA) is required to start.
Must be able to work collaboratively in a team environment with other highly motivated network engineers and independently on large field projects. Must have Network Design & Development experience.
Must know how to design, implement, and manage Network Management and Monitoring Systems.
Must have extensive experience with networking protocols.
Must have proven troubleshooting expertise.
Must have experience planning and supporting the deployment of network infrastructure.
Must have experience leading projects and training individuals on technologies.
Preferred Qualifications: Current and active Top Secret clearance is highly desired.
Experience loading and modifying MIBS and SEED files, writing scripts for network automation, and developing fix lets to be used with IBM BigFix.
JNCP or CCNP Certification.
Prior C2BMC experience Developing KPIs, tracking other metrics, and creating reports.
