Northrop Grumman Space Systems – Launch and Missile Defense Systems has an exciting career opportunity for a Sr Principal Engineer Network – Network Engineer SME (25-009) to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. This position will be located in Colorado Springs, CO. Position Overview: The Command and Control, Battle Management, and Communications (C2BMC) program integrates the Missile Defense System. It is a vital operational system that enables the U.S. president, secretary of defense, and combatant commanders to systematically plan ballistic missile defense operations and manage designated networked sensors and weapons systems to achieve global and regional mission objectives. As a Network Engineering SME, the candidate will be at the forefront of network design, helping solve complex technical problems, leading team members in technical execution, and training engineers with less experience. Essential Functions: Apply extensive expertise and solve complex problems that require ingenuity and creativity.

Function in project leadership roles and represent the organization as prime customer contact on significant technical matters.

Assist junior engineers with tasks as needed.

Plan, deploy, integrate, and test upgrades to the C2BMC network.

Travel to remote locations to lead network installations and provide status updates.

Create, maintain, and present KPIs and other metrics related to the Network Enterprise.

Basic Qualifications: Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics or a related discipline and 8 years of related experience, or a Master’s degree and 6 years of experience, or 12 years of related experience instead of a degree.

Active in-scope DoD-issued

Secret

security clearance is required.

Ability and willingness to travel up to 10% to support business needs.

DoD 8140 certification at

IAT Level II or higher

is required.

Experience in Network Design & Development and managing Network Management and Monitoring Systems.

Extensive experience with networking protocols and proven troubleshooting expertise.

Experience leading projects and training individuals on technologies.

Preferred Qualifications: Current and active Top Secret clearance is highly desired.

Experience with network automation and developing fixlets for IBM BigFix.

JNCP or CCNP Certification.

Prior C2BMC experience developing KPIs and tracking metrics.
