JOB TITLE: Project Engineer
PLANT/DEPARTMENT:
Defense Engineering DIRECTED BY:
Vice President of Engineering IMPORTANT WORKING RELATIONSHIPS: Customers, Marketing & Program Management Plant Personnel, Vendor Representatives, Purchasing
DIRECTS:
Engineering personnel as assigned PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITY:
Managing projects, including design development and technical oversight of assigned engineering tasks. MAJOR DUTIES: Interpret and ensure compliance with customer purchase specifications. Develop design concepts and product specifications within cost and budget goals. Coordinate efforts of project and design engineers based on budget and schedule when leading engineering responsibilities. Oversee the preparation of layout drawings. Perform necessary calculations. Prepare detailed and assembly drawings when drafting assistance is unavailable. Consult with engineering management on project issues and problems. Develop requirements for and specify purchased components. Communicate with other operations regarding project requirements. Prepare proposals estimating engineering effort based on customer specifications and marketing requirements. Participate in design reviews and other related activities. Check all drawings prepared for project use. Perform other duties as assigned.
EDUCATION PREFERRED/SPECIAL NOTES:
* B.S.M.E. or B.S.E.E. EXPERIENCE PREFERRED/SPECIAL NOTES:
* 5 years of mechanical, electrical, or hydraulic design experience with powered equipment. * Short notice travel may be required. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
