This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced professional to lead electrical engineering projects across a variety of sectors including municipal, commercial, educational, and healthcare facilities.
Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage electrical engineering projects from concept through construction
- Design and develop electrical systems including lighting, power distribution, fire alarm, and low voltage systems
- Oversee the preparation of construction documents, specifications, and cost estimates
- Collaborate with other engineering disciplines and architects to ensure integrated project delivery
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior staff
- Perform site visits and field inspections to assess existing conditions and ensure construction compliance
- Coordinate with clients, utility companies, and regulatory agencies as needed
- Ensure projects meet applicable codes, standards, and quality assurance guidelines
- Participate in proposal development and project budgeting
- Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering from an ABET-accredited institution
- PE (Professional Engineer) license required, preferably in North Carolina or the ability to obtain reciprocity
- Minimum of 8 years of relevant electrical engineering experience, ideally within consulting or A/E firms
- Strong knowledge of National Electrical Code (NEC), lighting design, and energy codes
- Proficiency with electrical design software such as AutoCAD, Revit, and SKM or similar
- Strong leadership, communication, and client-facing skills
- Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines effectively
- Experience with sustainable design practices and LEED projects
- Familiarity with local and state building codes in North Carolina
