GENERAL PURPOSE:
Under the general direction of the Department Manager, Physician, and/or Mid-level Provider, the Medical Assistant supports both front and back office clinical processes as needed. Responsibilities include preparing patients for examinations and procedures, sterilizing reusable instruments, and ensuring compliance with OSHA and state regulations. The Medical Assistant also assists with front desk duties, coordinating patient intake paperwork to ensure smooth clinic flow.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Verify patient information by interviewing patients, recording medical history, and confirming the purpose of the visit
- Prepare patients for examinations by performing preliminary physical tests such as measuring blood pressure, weight, and temperature
- Administer injections and medications as directed by the physician
- Assist with front desk activities as needed to support clinic operations
- Participate actively in quality improvement efforts and support clinical teams
- Ability to stand or walk for up to 12 hours and lift/move patients when necessary
- High School diploma or GED
- Completion of a Medical Assistant program
- Minimum two years' experience preferred in family medicine or pediatric clinic
- CMA or RMA certification strongly preferred
- Licensed through the Division of Public and Behavioral Health as an Office Laboratory Assistant
