Position Summary
The Account Executive is responsible for identifying, qualifying, and closing new business opportunities for live
event production, including sound, lighting, and video solutions. This role is a front-line sales position focused on
outbound prospecting, inbound lead conversion, and driving revenue through new client acquisition. The Account
Executive is a self-starter with a hunter mentality, a strong understanding of the event production industry, and the
ability to craft compelling proposals that win business.
Essential Functions
While not all-inclusive, the following is a list of primary and general duties. In addition to these listed duties, this
position shall also perform other tasks as assigned, shall abide by all provisions of the Employee Handbook, and
shall participate in all company initiatives and projects.
Primary Responsibilities
• Proactively prospect and generate new business through cold outreach, networking events, referrals, and
inbound lead follow-up.
• Qualify potential clients to ensure they align with company capabilities and service levels.
• Conduct discovery meetings to understand client needs, budget, and event objectives.
• Develop and present customized proposals that communicate technical and creative solutions.
• Manage the full sales cycle from initial outreach to signed contract and deposit collection.
• Enter all deal data accurately into the CRM system and maintain up-to-date pipeline tracking.
• Collaborate with Account Managers and Project Managers to ensure smooth handoff after deal close.
• Build a strategic prospecting plan to hit or exceed monthly, quarterly, and annual sales goals.
• Attend industry events, trade shows, and association meetings to build pipeline and brand awareness.
• Stay current on trends in live event production, client verticals, and competitive offerings.
• Provide forecasting and sales reporting to leadership on a weekly/monthly basis.
Experience and Skills/Abilities
• 5+ years of sales experience, in the live events, AV, or creative services industry.
• Strong understanding of event production technologies and services (audio, lighting, video, LED walls).
• Proven track record of meeting or exceeding sales quotas in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong interpersonal, presentation, and negotiation skills.
• Highly organized with excellent follow-up habits and time management.
• Experience working with CRM systems (HubSpot, Salesforce, or equivalent).
• Able to build trust quickly and position solutions with value-based selling strategies.
• Willingness to attend networking functions, evening events, and occasional travel as needed.
Work Environment and Expectations
• Occasional onsite presence required at client meetings, venue walk-throughs, and live events.
• Must be flexible with work hours during peak seasons or high-profile projects.
• Commitment to high standards of customer service and company values.
Travel
This position requires frequent travel, up to 50% of the time. Travel will be mixed local and outside the local area
and overnight.
Expected Hours of Work
Hours of work are a typical work day schedule, except during high travel or high volume sales periods when
evening and weekend work may be required. All breaks and lunches will comply with local, state and federal laws.
Positions requiring overtime will be paid in accordance with local, state and federal laws.
