Position: Mechanic Assistant (Full-Time) Reports To: Shop Manager FLSA Status: Hourly Department: Agronomy
  • Job Summary: The ideal candidate is someone that communicates well, is self-motivated, has a positive attitude, and is well organized. The Mechanic Assistant is responsible for preventative and routine maintenance and repairs on golf course equipment such as mowers, tractors, and utility vehicles, including diagnosing mechanical issues and implementing effective solutions promptly to minimize downtime. This position will collaborate with the Shop Manager to prioritize equipment needs and support daily operations, uphold safety protocols and promote a culture of safety awareness.

  • Director of Agronomy
  • Shop Manager
  • Equipment Technician
  • 1st and 2nd Assistant
  • Project Manager
Qualifications: The Mechanic Assistant must meet the below requirements:
  • Certificate from a college or technical school preferred or three to six months of related experience and/or training in lieu of certificate.
  • A valid State issued Driver's License.
  • Spanish speaking is a plus but not required.
  • Meet all Federal and State Employment Eligibility guidelines
  • Must be able to stand on their feet for extended periods of time.
  • Must be able to lift and/or carry items that are at most 40pounds
Job Tasks / Duties: The Mechanic Assistant job duties include but are not limited to:
Daily Duties
  • Performing routine maintenance and repairs on golf course equipment such as mowers, tractors, and utility vehicles.
  • Diagnosing mechanical issues and implementing effective solutions promptly to minimize downtime.
  • Conducting preventive maintenance to ensure all equipment operates at peak performance and remains in safe working condition.
  • Collaborating with the Equipment Manager to prioritize equipment needs and support daily operations.
  • Upholding safety protocols and promoting a culture of safety awareness among staff
  • Regular and reliable attendance.
  • The ability to operate reel and bed knife grinders is a plus.
  • Previous golf course mechanics or other mechanical background.

Schedule: The schedule will be Monday-Thursday 6am-3pm. Friday 6am-10:30am. Weekends will rotate 6am-10:30am
Salary Description
$20-25/Hr.
