Job OverviewnnProvide daily hands-on manufacturing engineering support to the Insulator Business Unit. The Insulator BU uses an epoxy/glass pultrusion process to create the rods used as the core of the insulator. A mechanical crimping process is used to attach hardware to the finished insulator. This position will support all aspects of both operations by developing and implementing tooling, machine, process, assembly, and testing improvements focused on continuously improving safety, quality, manufacturing efficiency, and reliability.nn#LI-SL1nnA Day In The LifennSupports manufacturing operations, maintenance, and quality personnel to resolve daily issues in a timely manner. Support the Quality department in resolving Product Performance Inquiries (PPI).nTake the lead, and supports others, in problem solving relative to products, equipment, and processes.nMonitors work for compliance to applicable codes, accepted engineering practices, and HPS standards.nDirects, coordinates, and exercises functional authority for the planning, organization, control, integration, and completion of engineering projects.nEnsures effective communication and coordination on assigned projects across all disciplines, and with all other project participants and stakeholders.nResponsible for new process implementation and the improvement/optimization of current production processes.nResponsible for continuous improvement and cost reduction activities in assigned areas.nResponsible for developing and maintaining all process documentation and establishing the target rates for the jobs.nSupport new product launches and transfers. Manages the manufacturing process development and set-up.nSpecify and purchase equipment and tooling as needed to replace existing, or for new programs launches.nCoach, teach, and develop others regarding process understanding to allow them to increase their capability/effectiveness, including mentoring junior engineers.nnWhat will help you thrive in this role?nnMust have 2+ years of manufacturing engineering experience in a lean environment.nExperience in scrap reduction, tool/fixture design, process development, and preventative maintenance.nAbility to manage multiple projects; including project proposals, specifications, budget preparations, and implementation.nExcellent written and oral communication.
