This position will support the Operations and Strategic Project Teams in management of organic waste streams on projects that may include product dispositions, product recalls, and destructions with a focus on recycling and reuse through various supplier partnerships. This role will be responsible for supporting strategy related to logistics, proposals, and solution implementation, and ensuring alignment with customer objectives and Envita goals.
Reporting Structure

  • This position will report to the Sr. Director, Strategic Projects and will collaborate with the Organics Supplier Relationship Team, Strategic Projects Team and the Operations Teams.
Essential Functions
  • Ensure all activities are completed in accordance with all applicable regulatory and compliance requirements.
  • Oversee the management of organic by-product waste streams and compliant disposition of food and beverage products.
  • Function as main contact for Supplier Partners and Operations Program Managers in dealing with project related activities at existing customer facilities.
  • Prepare required reports, including proposals, cost estimates, comprehensive scopes of work, and shipping volume reports.
  • Manage the execution of service, oversee logistics, schedule pickup and delivery appointments.
  • Responsible for the communication amongst logistics and hauling, organic strategic suppliers and customers.
  • Communicate with customers to develop opportunity scope and ensure alignment with goals and acceptable management practices.
  • Support Business Development, Strategic Solution and Operations Teams with appropriate means and methods of management of Organic waste streams in conjunction with ongoing customer activities.
  • Manage internal and customer documentation requirements related to material management.
  • Strong logistics & warehousing background including a detailed understanding of shipping & storage of organic materials.
  • Monitor and track loads as needed to ensure details are accurately communicated and proactively identify potential problems.
  • Additional duties and responsibilities as assigned, including but not limited to continuously growing in alignment with the Company's core values, competencies, and skills.
Education Qualifications
  • Required High School or Equivalent
  • Preferred Associate's Degree Agriculture or Animal Sciences or
  • Preferred Bachelor's Degree Agriculture or Animal Sciences
Experience Qualifications
  • Preferred 1+ years Logistics and Warehouse Specialist, Organic By-Product Management, Animal Feed, Compost, Digester
  • Preferred 1+ years FSMA, FDA, USDA Regulatory Experience

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills to convey information clearly across teams and stakeholders.
  • Keen eye for accuracy and detail to ensure project completion.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks effectively and meet tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment while managing multiple projects.
  • Ability to engage and build strong relationships with supplier network, colleagues and clients while maintaining professionalism.
  • Strong analytical skills to troubleshoot challenges, make sound decisions, and adapt.
  • Knowledgeable of the supply chain and logistics industry, highly motivated, urgency driven and have superior written and verbal communication skills to succeed at this position.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office required.
  • Working knowledge of Salesforce preferred.

Working Conditions/Physical Demands
  • Individual will be based in at the Envita - Indianapolis office.
  • Travel requirements less than 25%
