Hours:
8 hours per day - 1st Shift (6:00am - 2:30pm)
5 days per week (Monday - Friday)
261 days - 12 months
Requirements:

• Strong troubleshooting and repair skills with automotive vehicles and grounds related equipment.
• Ability to weld and fabricate.
• Must have own tools.
• Must have a clean driving record and have or be able to obtain a Minnesota commercial driver's license with school bus and passenger endorsement.
• Ability to lift 60lbs.
• Mechanical ability.
• Ability to demonstrate written and verbal skills.
• Must be able to work in a team environment.
• Must pass physical & physical ability test.

Preferred:

• ASE certification

Responsibilities:
District fleet vehicles and grounds related equipment repair:

• Troubleshoot, repair, and rebuild all vehicle systems including drivetrain, brakes, electrical systems, exhaust & emission systems, vehicle body & seats.
• Troubleshoot, repair and repair all gas and electric grounds related equipment (i.e. John Deere tractors, New holland tractors, Toro lawn equipment, Stihl (mowers, blowers, whips) Western snow equipment).
• Record parts and labor accurately on work orders.
• Perform or assist in preventive maintenance program as necessary.
• Communicates vehicle status information with appropriate staff.
• Attempt to repair on the road breakdowns as needed.
• Complies with safety/health rules using personal protective equipment.

Other Duties

• Drive a school bus when needed
• Help with bus inspections as needed
• Snow removal when needed
