Selectek is seeking an experienced Controls Engineer / PLC Programmer to join our automation team near North Minneapolis, MN. In this role, you’ll be responsible for designing, programming, and commissioning control systems for custom automated machinery. The position includes electrical design, PLC and HMI development, and hands-on startup support at customer sites.nKey Responsibilities:nnDesign and program control systems per project specifications (Erdman and customer-defined).nWrite code using Allen Bradley platforms such as Studio 5000, RS500, and FactoryTalk View for HMI development.nPerform safety circuit design and programming using safety PLCs; complete risk assessments and implement safety devices accordingly.nCreate UL 508A-certified electrical designs, including component specification and documentation.nContribute to electrical and pneumatic design, debug machines, and support final machine certification for customer run-off.nTravel to customer sites (~25%, mostly domestic, with occasional international) for equipment installation and commissioning.nCollaborate with internal teams to ensure functional, safe, and efficient automation solutions.nnRequired Qualifications:nn3–5 years’ experience in controls engineering and PLC programming.nProficiency in AutoCAD for electrical schematics and control panel layouts.nExperience with Allen Bradley systems (Studio 5000, RS500) and FactoryTalk View HMI software.nStrong understanding of electrical and pneumatic systems.nWillingness to travel 25%, including occasional international travel.nnPreferred Qualifications:nnAssociate’s degree in electrical engineering technology, Automation, or related field.nFamiliarity with UL 508A panel standards and safety compliance practices.nExperience in machinery design and custom automation environments.nnPay Rate: $25.00 - $40.00nTerm: 6-month temp to permnIf you are qualified and interested in this opportunity, please send an updated resume to OR contact Kyle Lankswert directly by calling 470-203-9801.nSelectek is seeking an experienced Controls Engineer / PLC Programmer to join our automation team near North Minneapolis, MN.
