Quality Assurance Inspector
positions.
The Quality Assurance Inspector is responsible for testing and visually inspecting products at various stages of the manufacturing process to ensure they conform to engineering specifications, workmanship expectations, and other manufacturing requirements. The available shifts are:
- Day Shift: 5:00 AM - 3:30 PM, Monday through Thursday (4 days) - Day Shift: 5:00 AM - 3:30 PM, Tuesday through Friday (4 days) - Weekend Shift: 5:00 AM - 5:30 PM, Friday through Sunday (3 days)

To qualify for the Quality Assurance Inspector position, candidates need at least one year of education or equivalent work experience, preferably in a manufacturing or industrial environment. Experience using measuring equipment such as micrometers, calipers, and depth gauges is highly valued. Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, are essential, along with the ability to perform calculations and interpret 2D and 3D prints. Familiarity with ISO 9001 and AS9100 standards is preferred, and candidates should have a high school diploma or GED, with an associate degree in a related field being an advantage.
The Quality Assurance Inspector's responsibilities include interpreting engineering drawings and documents, selecting products for inspection and testing, recording inspection and test data, ensuring product compliance with customer requirements, coordinating with the Director of Quality for maintenance and repair activities, initiating NCRs for nonconforming material, supporting manufacturing operations, performing random inspections, following company policies and safety procedures, and ensuring tools and equipment are calibrated and maintained.
The role demands physical activity, including standing, walking, lifting up to 50 pounds, and having specific vision abilities such as close vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to see color.
As a federal government contractor, Van-Am Tool & Engineering is required to maintain a drug-free workplace under the Drug-Free Workplace Act. As part of the hiring process, all candidates who receive a conditional job offer must undergo a pre-employment drug test, which includes testing for marijuana, regardless of state legalization.
