Additional Job Description: POSITION SUMMARY : The Advance Practice Professional (APP) is an individual with clinical and medical skills with expertise in pediatric ICU patient care. The APP conducts comprehensive patient evaluations, collaborates with clinical teams, assesses and coordinates educational and psychosocial needs, develops and reviews care plans, participates in staff and student education, and performs diagnostic and therapeutic procedures.
Provide healthcare services compliant with state law and licensing requirements, including but not limited to patient assessments, procedures, and care planning.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS FOR NURSE PRACTITIONER:
Graduate of a CCNE-accredited nursing program with a Master's Degree in Nursing or equivalent.
National Certification by recognized APRN Certification Centers.
Licensure or eligibility for licensure as a Registered Nurse and Advanced Practice Registered Nurse in West Virginia.
American Heart Association BLS Certification; additional ALS training at department discretion.
Experience:
Pediatric ICU or pediatric experience preferred.
New graduates considered.
Preferred Qualifications:
PNP-AC preferred; PNP-PC or FNP with additional certification considered.
PALS certification at department discretion.
CORE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Manage comprehensive care for pediatric ICU patients, perform rounds, assessments, diagnostics, procedures, develop care plans, participate in education, and promote quality improvement initiatives, among other responsibilities listed in detail.
Physical and Environmental Requirements: Includes heavy work, working around biohazards and infectious diseases, and working with or near the deceased, with accommodations available for disabilities.
Skills and Abilities:
Proficiency with computers.
Strong communication skills.
Scheduled weekly hours: 40. Shift: Varied. Exempt status. Location: Morgantown, WV. Equal Opportunity Employer.
