Futures Technology is a global team providing technology services to the HSBC Futures business. The team manages multiple Listed Derivatives e-Trading platforms and delivers key client and regulatory/exchange driven projects – supporting our global business and its customers.

Using Agile and DevOps principles is critical for us to deliver business value, with continuous improvement and learning at the centre of everything we do. We strive to engineer performant, scalable, and reliable systems that enable our business to grow clients and revenue. We focus on implementing working agile practices in collaboration with our business partners to achieve their goals while maintaining technical excellence.

The Futures technology team manages and maintains a mix of external vendor platforms and internally developed systems. The eTrading platforms cover all areas of eTrading, from client order entry, Algorithmic trading, to order messages on global exchanges, Pre & Post Trade Risk, and Allocation services.

The team spans four main trading hubs (Hong Kong, New York, London, Chicago) with members in six locations (Guangzhou, Hong Kong, New York, Chicago, London, and Krakow).

Technology is constantly evolving, so we seek full-stack DevOps engineers comfortable working across UI, backend, databases, and infrastructure, and open to learning new programming languages.

The Futures Front Office Technical Lead (Full Stack Engineer) will operate in a DevOps model, supporting HSBC’s Futures IT systems, primarily for the US Trading Desk, and as needed, Europe and Asia.

As our Front Office Technical Lead, you will:

Involve in all phases of futures technology projects, including requirements gathering, design, architecture, project management, development, testing, and deployment.

Provide technical support for our Futures execution systems, supporting both internal and external clients across vendor platforms, including FIX client onboarding and certifications.

Manage incident and problem resolution, ensuring excellent service to our users.

HSBC offers a target pay range between $145,400 and $218,000. The final offer depends on the candidate’s experience, skills, responsibilities, and location.
