We are developing a new business that seeks to automate a major industrial workflow using ML-based technology. The business is early-stage and pre-revenue. We are looking for a Software Engineering Leader who can take the product and technology from 0 to 100. You will be working with a small team of software engineers and ML scientists in the development and deployment of this technology, reporting to the GM. The position requires a highly motivated, “roll up your sleeves” software leader who can get things done in a fast-paced environment. As Director of Software Engineering, you will be responsible for leading and managing all aspects of the software development process, ensuring the successful delivery of software projects, and aligning efforts with business objectives. This role involves overseeing the entire software development lifecycle, providing strategic vision, technical leadership, and managing project timelines and resources. Additionally, the Director mentors team leaders, drives performance, fosters an environment that encourages personal and professional growth. They are also involved in strategic planning, resource management, process improvement, and staying up-to-date with the latest technologies. Please note:

Location preference is given to candidates in the following locations: Seattle, WA - Los Angeles, CA - Boston, MA. 12+ years of software engineering experience 8+ years of experience managing engineering teams Proficiency with a wide variety of programming languages, technical stacks and cloud technologies Experience in recruiting, hiring, mentoring/coaching, and managing teams of Software Engineers to improve their skills and make them more effective Experience in communicating with users, other technical teams, and senior leadership to collect requirements, describe software product features, technical designs, and product strategy Experience partnering with product or program management teams, and working with distributed teams Experience managing multiple concurrent programs, projects, and development teams in an Agile environment Willingness to travel Fluency in written and spoken English is required Experience in the manufacturing industry Applied ML experience Startup experience Compensation Range:

Annual salary for this position in Seattle, is expected to be between $185,000 to $278,000, plus participation in our annual bonus plan and long term incentive plan. The actual pay may be higher depending on your qualifications and experience. The BIG payoff
