Reporting to the Director of Accounting, the AR/AP Manager oversees the accounting staff and manages the daily activities of Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable, ensuring accurate and timely processing of financial transactions related to payments and receipts. Responsibilities Hire, train and lead the Accounts Receivable and Payable staff: assist in interviewing and hiring, conduct training, confer regularly with staff to plan and coordinate activities, assign, and review work, assist with difficult or unusual tasks, resolve problems. Review metrics, develop and implement process improvement, and proactively manage issues related to vendor and customer accounts Set objectives for the accounting team that align with the accounting departments goals Negotiate with past due accounts, maintain cash receipts, and recommend referral of accounts to collection agencies as necessary. Assist in month end close to include preparing journal entries and performing general ledger account reconciliations and analysis Manage workflow to ensure even and accurate distribution of workload to maximize productivity and performance Identify, research, and resolve problematic transactions Perform account reconciliations as needed to verify accurate information. Receive, research and resolve a variety of internal and external inquiries concerning account status including communicating the resolution of discrepancies to the appropriate parties. Maintain quality control to ensure accounting transactions comply with financial policies and procedures. Responsible for reviewing and compiling cash management reports and bank reconciliations Prepare schedules and provide documentation for the annual external audit Provide routine and ad hoc reports and research to support management Perform other duties and projects as assigned Requirements Bachelors degree in accounting or business administration/management A minimum of 7 years of experience A minimum of 3 years of supervisory experience Strong problem solving and critical thinking skills Excellent time management skills and ability to manage multiple tasks Excellent analytical and decision making abilities Intermediate to Advanced Microsoft Excel skills EOE Seniority level
