Location: 832 Princeton Ave SW Birmingham, AL 35211 Pay: $16.50 - $22.53/hr Shift: Clinic hours are Monday-Friday 8:00am-6:00pm, Saturday 8:00am-4:00pm, Sunday 1:00pm-5:00pm. MA's are required to rotate shifts including weekends and holidays. It is not typical for individuals to be hired at or near the top of the established pay range. Compensation decisions are based on the specific facts and circumstances of each case. The final offer may be influenced by several factors, including the candidate's skills, education, qualifications, experience, and geographic location. Summary Of Job Duties

Assists in examination and treatment of patients under direction of healthcare providers. Essential Job Functions:

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Interviews patients, accurately takes vital signs such as manual BP, pulse rate, temperature, 02 level, weight and height, and properly records information into EMR. Prepares exam rooms for examination of patients as well as stocking them. Hands instruments and materials to provider as directed for certain procedures. Cleans and sterilizes instruments. Performs EKG's, urinalysis, strep test, flu test, covid test, mono test, pregnancy test, checks patients A1C, etc. Gives injections per provider's orders (intramuscular, intradermal, subcutaneous). Handles portal messages from patients, refill medications, order additional labs or imaging as needed, complete prior authorizations, complete precertification for imaging, etc. Must have effective communication skills and instruct patients and/or their family as directed by the provider. Call patients to discuss results as directed by the provider while maintaining patient confidentiality. Keys data into EMR to maintain office and patient records. May be required to perform duties outside of their normal responsibilities from time to time as needed or as directed by supervision (i.e., assist with patient check-in). Perform blood draws competently and expediently with as little patient discomfort as possible.
