Professional Development Graduate Consultant

The Professional Development Graduate Consultant works closely with the Assistant Director for Professional Development and the Office of Career and Life Design Team to build and strengthen content, resources, and programming for graduate students' and postdoctoral scholars' professional development, including co-leading the creation and curation of content and resources supporting research communication skill-building for the advanced degree community. The ideal candidate will have experience designing and developing educational content (such as asynchronous online learning modules), demonstrate excellent verbal and written communication skills, and serve as an enthusiastic ambassador for the Office of Career and Life Design Team's programs and initiatives, promoting them to peers, departments, and the broader campus community. Responsibilities

Design asynchronous content, curriculum, and online resources on improving communication skills for graduate students and postdoctoral scholars (e.g., research storytelling, elevator pitches, visual/written communication, social media). Develop interactive, in-person sessions that complement online materials and foster skill-building through practice and peer feedback. Support and lead needs research regarding professional development initiatives for graduate students and postdoctoral scholars across campus. Support the planning, coordination, and execution of workshops and events led by the Office of Career and Life Design Team. Co-teach and propose new programs if desired. Required Qualifications

Experience with instructional content creation. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Strong organizational and research skills, including the ability to locate and synthesize high-quality resources. Able to work independently and meet deadlines. Strong interpersonal and teamwork skills; able to collaborate with a range of stakeholders. Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint). Experience with Canvas or other learning management system. Attention to detail in editing, reviewing, and organizing materials. Master's or PhD students enrolled in at least 9 credit hours. In good academic standing with advisor approval. Relevant education and experience may be substituted as appropriate. Preferred Qualifications

Experience developing asynchronous learning contents and modules. Experience with teaching and/or training in a university setting. Familiarity with career education resources, both internal and external to the university. Skills in event planning, coordination, and logistics. Interest in learning more about career development, professional development, and life design. Salary Range

$20 per hour-10 hours per week. Working Conditions

Use of manual dexterity. May work around standard office conditions. Repetitive use of keyboard at a workstation. Work Shift
