Purpose The DiNitto Career Center at the University of Texas at Austin School of Social Work is looking to hire a Social Media and Student Engagement Student Assistant. This is a great opportunity to expand your knowledge and skills in the dynamic field of social work, while playing an integral role in providing key career services support. Responsibilities Promote career services for the DiNitto Career Center and the UT Austin School of Social Work through all avenues of communication such as, email blasts, social media content and workshop slide decks Update student and alumni opportunities on Instagram Design graphics and illustrations for promotional materials Create layout for student and alumni e-newsletter and plan content Collaborate with various departments in the School of Social Work and with other colleges and departments at the University of Texas at Austin Assist in the maintenance of the DCC daily operations Required Qualifications Must have work-study award from financial aid Experience in working with various social media platforms (e.g., Facebook, Instagram, and LinkedIn) Proficient in using office software (e.g., Microsoft Office Suite, Canva, and Mailchimp) Knowledge of promotional design/visual communication in digital spaces Understanding of design principles Strong organizational and time management skills Attention to detail Relevant education and experience may be substituted as appropriate. Preferred Qualifications Experience and access to Adobe Creative Suite (primarily Illustrator) Knowledge of copy-writing for social media Ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects simultaneously Interpersonal and analytical skills Ability to work independently and collaboratively Career Competencies Gained Communicate in a clear and organized manner so that others can effectively understand Make decisions and solve problems using sound, inclusive reasoning and judgment Act equitably with integrity and accountability to self, others, and the organization Manipulate information, construct ideas, and use technology to achieve strategic goals Salary Range $15.00 per hour (max commitment of 15 hours per week) Working Conditions Position located in Austin, TX On-campus availability required Monday
