As the Technical Publications Authoring Team Lead, you will play a vital leadership role in the sustainment of the F-35 Joint Strike Fighter program. You will oversee a team responsible for developing and maintaining critical operations and maintenance technical publications that directly support the readiness and effectiveness of one of the world's most advanced fighter aircraft. Your role requires a blend of strong technical knowledge, excellent communication skills, and effective team leadership to ensure the delivery of clear, accurate, and timely documentation that meets stringent military and engineering standards. You will work closely with engineering, sustainment, and quality teams to translate complex technical data into user-friendly manuals that empower maintainers worldwide. Key responsibilities include: Leading and mentoring a team of technical publications authors in creating, updating, and maintaining operations and maintenance manuals for the F-35 aircraft. Overseeing the authoring process to ensure technical accuracy, clarity, and compliance with military and industry standards. Collaborating with engineering, sustainment, and quality assurance teams to incorporate the latest aircraft configurations and sustainment updates into documentation. Managing project schedules, resources, and priorities to meet program milestones and delivery deadlines. Facilitating continuous improvement initiatives to enhance documentation quality, efficiency, and user experience. Ensuring documentation supports operational readiness by providing clear, actionable instructions for maintenance personnel worldwide. Reviewing and approving technical content before release to ensure it meets quality and compliance requirements. Communicating regularly with cross-functional teams and leadership to provide status updates and address any issues impacting documentation delivery. What's in it for you? Desired skills include: F-35 aircraft or F135 engine maintenance experience Familiarity/direct experience with S1000D standards and using SGML/XML, SGML/XML Authoring Experience with removal, installation, and inspection of aircraft components Airframe & Powerplant (A&P) license F-35 Engineering and Logistics systems experience (JDL - JSF Data Library, PDM - Product Data Manager, ATLAS - Advanced Technical Logistics Applications System, VAS - Visual Augmentation System) Strong verbal and written communications skills, with the ability to articulate complex issues, provide concise explanations, and collaborate effectively across teams Part-time remote telework: The employee selected for this position will work part of their work schedule remotely and part of their work schedule at a designated Lockheed Martin facility. The specific weekly schedule will be discussed during the hiring process. This position requires a government security clearance, you must be a US Citizen for consideration. Pay Rate: The annual base salary range for this position in California and New York (excluding most major metropolitan areas), Colorado, Hawaii, Illinois, Maryland, Minnesota, New Jersey, Vermont, Washington or Washington DC is $95,000 - $167,440. For states not referenced above, the salary range for this position will reflect the candidate's final work location.
