Next-Generation Pastor

Position Summary

The Next-Generation Pastor is responsible for leading, discipling, and empowering children and youth (birth through 12th grade) to foster spiritual growth, community, and leadership development. This role is future-focused, innovative, and deeply relational-creating ministry environments that resonate with emerging generations while remaining rooted in biblical truth.

Key Responsibilities

Vision & Leadership

  • Develop and execute a strategic vision for Next-Gen ministries aligned with the church's overall mission.
  • Lead and mentor teams of staff and volunteers across children's and student ministries.
  • Create engaging, age-appropriate environments that foster spiritual growth and biblical literacy.

Relational Discipleship

  • Build authentic relationships with students and families to support their spiritual journey.
  • Equip and train leaders to disciple students through small groups, mentorship, and service opportunities.
  • Foster a culture of belonging and intergenerational connection within the church.

Communication & Teaching

  • Teach regularly in student gatherings and occasionally in main services.
  • Communicate biblical truths in culturally relevant, creative, and compelling ways.
  • Partner with parents as the primary disciplers of their children, offering resources, events, and support.

Programming & Events

  • Oversee weekly gatherings, retreats, camps, mission trips, and outreach events.
  • Collaborate with others to design dynamic student experiences.
  • Utilize digital platforms and social media to connect with and disciple students.

Administration & Development

  • Manage budgets, schedules, and ministry plans for all Next-Gen departments.
  • Recruit, train, and appreciate volunteer teams.
  • Continually assess ministry effectiveness and adapt strategies accordingly.

Qualifications

  • A growing, vibrant relationship with Jesus Christ.
  • Theological or ministry training is preferred.
  • Strong communicator, visionary, and team builder.
  • High emotional intelligence, cultural awareness, and tech-savviness.
  • Passionate about equipping the next generation to lead in church, culture, and community.
