STUDENT PASTOR
The Student Ministry at Trinity Baptist Church (TBC) serves nearly 100 students on a weekly basis. TBC is searching for a relational Student Pastor who works well on a team and who is able to direct a team of volunteers who disciple students.
Key Responsibilities
Spiritual Growth
- Implementing overall church vision in the lives of Middle School and High School students • Championing overall church beliefs and values in the Student Ministry
- Developing volunteer leaders who build relationships with students
Directly discipling student-leaders and team-leads
Outreach
- Challenging students to share their faith with others and equipping them to do so
- Creating events and opportunities for students to utilize in inviting others to attend
- Creating an irresistible experience for first-time guests including effective follow-up
Pursuing students inside the church context who are uninvolved in Student Ministry
Event Planning
- Maintaining an organized and excellent environment for student gatherings on Sunday mornings and Wednesday nights
- Creating excellent environments for special student gatherings (church camp, mission trips, worship nights, fun nights, etc.)
Creating a new ministry for college students and young adults (post high school) designed for connection, community, and worship
Administration
- Collaborating with church Office Director to maintain attendance records, financial records, and other business
- Overseeing Student Ministry budget spending on an annual basis
Communicating with students and parents regularly and thoroughly
Collaboration
- Participating in weekly pastoral staff meetings
- Working together with Worship Pastor to create one seamless Worship Ministry
- Working together with Kids Pastor to create a seamless transition from Kids Ministry to Student Ministry
Working together with all ministries (Guest Experience, Community Impact, etc.) to maximize student involvement at the meta-church level
Teaching and Preaching
- Creating Wednesday evening preaching calendar and schedule
Overseeing Sunday morning Bible study strategy and focuses
Relationship-Building
- Building relationships with students in order to facilitate spiritual growth and maturity
Building and empowering a healthy adult leadership team designed to impact the lives of students
Qualifications
Education
- Bachelor's degree or above
Solid foundation in theology and biblical education
Ministry Experience
- Three years of experience in same-size or larger Student Ministry context
Experience building and developing a volunteer ministry team
Spiritual Maturity
- Vibrant personal relationship with Jesus
- A seasoned believer, not new in the faith
Commitment to living a life of holiness and authenticity
Leadership Skills
- A passion to develop adult volunteers who will impact students
Ability to attract, inspire, motivate, and train others to do the work of ministry
Communication Skills
- Effective communicator of biblical truth and application
- Excellent verbal and written skill
Experience in creating and delivering effective sermons designed for students
Personal Character
- People-focused

- Self-motivated
