Job Summary: The Phlebotomist Patient Services Representative plays a vital role as the face of our diagnostic services, engaging directly with patients to collect and prepare blood specimens for laboratory analysis. This position ensures a professional and compassionate patient experience while maintaining accuracy, safety, and compliance with all protocols. The role supports healthcare delivery by enabling timely, reliable diagnostic insights across various clinical settings.
Key Responsibilities:
Perform routine and forensic blood specimen collections (inclusive of pediatric and geriatric draws) and processing with precision. Verify patient information and obtain required signatures post-venipuncture. Maintain clean, safe, and professional environments at assigned collection sites. Travel to and provide support across multiple Patient Service Centers or in-office phlebotomy locations as needed. Uphold confidentiality, accuracy, and superior customer service in all patient interactions. Adhere to all company policies, procedures, and standards including safety and dress code guidelines. Complete required records and documentation accurately and on time. Demonstrate leadership behaviors, flexibility, and the ability to adapt in high-volume or independently managed settings. Required Experience:
Minimum 3 years of phlebotomy experience, including pediatric, geriatric, and capillary collections. At least 2 years in a Patient Service Center environment preferred. Experience in retail or customer-facing service settings. Keyboard/data entry skills and strong computer proficiency. Nice-to-Have Experience:
Experience with multiple collection site coverage and flexible scheduling. Medical Assistant or Paramedic background. Phlebotomy certification (required in CA, NV, WA; preferred in others). Required Skills:
Phlebotomy expertise (including pediatric and geriatric draws) Excellent customer service and interpersonal communication Ability to work independently with minimal supervision Preferred Skills:
Data entry and administrative accuracy Familiarity with clinical workflows Strong organizational skills Adaptability in high-volume environments Bilingual communication (if applicable) Additional Skills:
Reliable transportation with valid driver's license and clean driving record (if applicable) Commitment to workplace safety and excellence principles Ability to make sound judgments within established procedures Availability for weekends, holidays, and overtime coverage Ability to handle multiple priorities effectively Shift Details:
Monday-Friday, 7:30 AM - 3:30 PM Every other Saturday, 8:00 AM - 12:00 PM Training locations may vary depending on trainer availability
